Update

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on things, and a lengthier blog post is to come. My sister Jessica was in a car accident on the 6th. It was pretty severe, but she is recovering well. Thanks to all those who have been keeping her in their prayers. There will be some adjusting for our family and a long road to recovery. Gratefully, the doctors predict full mobility and recovery within a year and no major lasting effects after two years. She is still at Hamot hospital in Erie, but will hopefully be transferred to Pittsburgh in the next week.

On the lighter side, I had my first ultrasound yesterday. The baby looks healthy and they are predicting our due date to be January 11th.

New Blog and Big News!

Hello!  Thanks for visiting our new blog; our old blog site was shut down (the whole site, not just our blog).  I fell away from updating the old one, but we have lots to share with everyone! And I loved reading Angie's so much that I was re inspired to stay with it so we can share our adventures with our friends and family.

In May, we found out that we are expecting baby number 2.  We were quite surprised, but very excited.  We are not so sure how excited Kade will be about sharing his toys and his mama and dada, but he will sure be a cute big brother.  We gave him one of my old Cabbage Patch dolls to carry around and to practice being nice to.

Many people's first response was "I thought you were going to adopt"...we still really want to, but I guess God has a different plan for us.  We will just push it back a bit, and pursue it again when we feel our lives are ready to add again.  I have my first appointment on June 8th and will meet my midwife.  I hope she will schedule an ultrasound soon so I can found out how far along I am.  I think I am somewhere between 2 and 3 months, so I'd be due around Christmas...I'll let everyone know as soon as I found out.  It will be so fun to have a baby so close in age to Mike and Angie's; I hope they will be friends.

The pictures are from our Mother's Day trip to Phipp's Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, one of my favorite places in the whole world!  Kade had so much fun doing funny walks on all the paths and pointing out all the colors of the plants.  He just learned most of his colors and likes to say tree and flower.  They also had some hands-on things, like little water squirters, that he had a blast with.  My favorites are the butterfly room and the orchids.  In the top picture, Kade had fallen asleep in his car seat while reading his beloved Yo Gabba Gabba book.  Too bad our sun shade wasn't working at all.

This summer will be a busy one for us.  Bill will be working 2 jobs, since his research position is only during the school year.  One is teaching SAT prep classes for Princeton Review.  I'm still with AmeriCorps and my site welcomed be on for next year as well, if I want.  They have been so great and are willing to let me work from home when the baby comes.  I'm still going to try to finish school, so say lots of prayers.  Kade is loving his trips to the park and feeding the ducks at the pond.  My dad, "Pappap", bought him a water and sand table, that he absolutely adores.  He has also discovered sidewalk chalk.  He is still loving school (daycare), has a favorite teacher, and two friends, Gracie and Peter.  We are working on potty training and will transition into a big boy bed around birthday time.  Hopes are to conquer both before baby time.  Kade gets so excited when he uses his potty.  He always has to have a book to read, and loves to say poopy pee pee.

Okay, enough for now.  I'll update again soon.
